FOD
F.O.D. stands for Foreign Object Debris or Foreign Object Damage. FOD is an aviation term used to describe debris on or around an aircraft or damage done to an aircraft. Bird strike is an example of FOD- when a plane flies into a bird, the impact can cause severe damage to the fuselage or engine, or even directly injure those aboard the aircraft if the bird strikes the aircraft in such a way as to enter the cockpit and/or cabin.
"Biting off more than one can chew", a clear example of FOD.

That sure is one hell of a FOD!
What if something from the plane flies off and hits the plane, wud it still be FOD? U know, FOREIGN Object Damage...or wud it be LOD? as in LOCAL Object Damage?
But how the hell did that in the pic happen?????
they are also considered as FOD.
Turbofan engines are very powerful. The same engine cud hav made fine metal powder out of the LD-3 if the engine were not at idle speed..
so plz don't stand near the intake and exhaust of a turbofan.... it may suck or throw u away..
